Good Morning,
I am new to this group and hoping someone can help. My partner has 2 boys that he pays for via the CMS, he has been doing this for 5 years now, and no one at the CMS ever advised him that he could claim fuel costs. Does anyone know if CMS will pay past expenses? Is it worth pursing as a complaint? I am a representative on his account so have full access to talk to them. I am just annoyed that he has lost so much money from his ex and the CSA always seem to side with her. It is painful to watch 🙁
His ex partner lied about him not paying as he used to pay her cash (but back then he had no idea this could happen and just wanted the best for his boys) and of course regrets it now as she is all about money. She barley looks after the boys as she palms them off to her mother, so my partner is paying for her lifestyle as the money he pays does not go on the boys, they are always on the phone to him asking for things, why don't the CSA ask the mother to provide evidence on how the money is being spent?? I am so annoyed with her and the CMS, sorry for the rant, but hope someone can help with my initial question.
Thanks all
hi,
unfortunately CMS will not backdate expenses for child contact travel. they only apply it from the point you claim it, if it's approved by them. the special expenses process is mentioned in their booklet, which they email people at annual review time. in the past they sent it in the post:
