Hello everyone,
I’m starting a petition and I need your support to get it going.
Petition Title:
Give custody preference to the parent who is financially stable
What it’s about:
I’m asking the UK Government to change family law so that courts give greater consideration to the financial stability of each parent when deciding custody. A parent who can provide a secure home, resources, and stability should be prioritised — for the best interest of the child.
Courts should give more weight to financial security, which directly affects a child’s access to housing, education, and healthcare. Children also benefit from seeing a parent who works and provides. Current laws often limit the earning parent’s role and put pressure on the non-earning parent. It’s time for the law to reflect these realities.
Will you be one of the 5 people I need to support this petition so I can submit it?
If yes, please let me know — and I’ll share the official petition link as soon as it’s live.
