Hi all, I wondered if anyone can help me?
Without going into too much detail, I was named on a CMS case, and not notified (this was very likely a vexacious claim)
I appealed and 'jumped' to do the DNA test which has come back negative, despite this (the purported mother refusing this for some months since being requested)
I am now being notified of payments continuing from a DEO, despite the negative test, I rang CMS when I found out and they were incredibly unhelpful over the phone. This was last week 'we will flag your case and get back to you in a couple of weeks'
I don't know if anyone has any support or suggestions to offer, I've drafted an email to the local MP which will be sent after my next phone call on Tuesday.
Am I right to think that this is absolutely awful treatment?
Thank you
hi,
unfortunately their service can be terrible at times. your employer would have set up the DEO after being advised by CMS. if you speak to your employer they should be able to make changes/end DEO.
Just clarifying that last bit of info - as far as I am aware, I don't think the employer has any choice in amending this, they are legally obliged to make that DEO, however wrong it may be, until CMS tell them to stop/amend.
