Hello
Looking for a bit of advice for a change in circumstances.
Currently I pay 2 x Mum's for child maintenance:
Mum 1 = 2 children (paid with private agreement)
Mum 2 = 1 child (paid though CSA)
However, 1 child will now come come to live with us full time so Mum 1 will only have 1 child. I assume that no child maintenance is paid as we are even as such. Using the calculator, because maintenance would be paid to 1 parent going forward, Mum 2's monthly maintenance charge has doubled.
I am happy to pay child maintenance, but the doubling seems extreme. So I suppose a few questions:
Would it be worth paying Mum 1 a small token payment once a month (perhaps towards uniforms etc) in a private agreement so that we are continuing to pay 2 Mum's? Would the CSA ask how much is being paid?
The child that is moving in full time is disabled and receives benefits so would any deductions for this be taken into place? We do not receive carers allowance as we earn too much but I will be unable to work as much due to their complex health needs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
hi,
if the moving child is covered by CMS payments, you should contact them to report change. claiming the child benefit is good idea and informs CMS that you are primary carer.
if its child from private arrangement, you can run calculator again with new changes and follow that. regardless you should inform CMS about change in circumstance
