hi there,

im currently trying to appeal against a decision for me to pay £2000.00 in csa arreas for the year 2008/09 my x put a claim in for this period saying that i only had my daughter 2 nights a week when i was having her 3 nights a week sometimes 5 nights the csa did phone me at this time which they were told how often i was having her but they didnt care so in the end i lost my temper with them and told them where to go and put the phone down on them (stupid i know) but they do wind you up, so now im in full time work and iv tried to do things right through the csa they come with these arreas these shouldnt even be this much its because of my xs lies to them if i have to pay these areas its going to take £400.00 per month out of my wages of £1200.00 per month which will leave me and my family with serious financial problems i have a daughter of 2 years old which the csa dont care about one bit. the csa say that theres nothing they can do about the arreas as i had a 28 day time limit back in 08/09 to sort this out which i didnt do. does anyone know of anywhere i can get help with this matter thanks for reading this all the best simon

Hi Simon

Go and see your MP as soon as possible - in the meantime, write to the CSA making a reasonable offer to pay off the arrears so that something is happening and they can't argue that you are simply ignoring the issue.
