[Solved] Definition of Nett Pay for CSA calculations

I receive 10% car allowance which is received each month and is taxed. I thought that this would be excluded from maintenance calculations just as if I received a car as a benefit, or a higher rate of mileage allowance which would not be included on my pay slip.

The CSA say it is included within the calculations although the caller had to put me on hold and consult a colleague.

Should this 10% be included within the CSA calculations?

I think it will be taxed as it is based on takehome pay and you are taking this money home. I will ask the CMO if they can confirm this.

Hi, I'm Sarah, a consultant at Child Maintenance Options.

In some circumstances, certain payments for expenses for work can be excluded from the income amount used in the CSA's child maintenance calculation. However, this does not apply to all circumstances or to all types of expenses/allowances, so it could be included in your case.

I hope this information helps.

Sarah.
