[Solved] self employed dad

my line of work means that i am subject to the weather conditions and availability of work which can impact on my regular income. i am currently organising details for the csa of my income and undertstand this will be effective from the date of the letter - what happens for the weeks when i dont get paid or get paid less due to lack of work?

Hi there,

Theres a sticky at the top of this section (Finance section) called "How does the CSA calculate Payments" if you follow the link it will open to a CSA leaflet that has useful information on a range of CSA queries. I think the page you need is 23 which concerns how they calculate amounts when a non resident parent is self employed. I think they take your income over a tax year and then work it out accordingly, minus certain expenses. Its worth a read, you might find that there are other deductions you may be entitled to. 🙂
