When to tell CM that child benefit has been stopped?

Hi all, I make CM payments on 1st of each month for 2 children. Child 1 starts full time work on Monday so child benefit will be notified on the day. Do you have to wait for confirmation that child benefit has stopped before informing CM in order for them to recalculate the amount to be paid for the 1 remaining child or can I put in a change of circumstances on the day that Child 1 starts full time employment? I've heard before that CM can reject the recalculation as it still shows child benefit is active so wondered how long after Child benefit is told before you can inform CM.

Many thanks.

hi,

it is better to report change to CMS after child has started working. child benefit office usually write to the main carer, asking what children's plans are, after leaving full time education.
