Can anyone help my partner is applying for a residence order. I'm currently in living at my mums address and can't afford a property of my own because of solicitor and court costs can anyone give any information on the likelihood of this application being accepted??

Can you clarify - is this your ex partner? If so, presumably she is looking for a Child Arrangement order for the child(ren) to live with her, and if so, what are the current living arrangements?

Yes she is my ex and the children are living with her. Also if this gets accepted does it mean the children will live with her till the age of 16?

Residence orders are now Child Arrangement Orders. They lay out where the children live and who they spend time with & when.

Your solicitor should be able to advise you on the legal jargon that accompanies a CAO.

Even if a CAO says the children live with her, it should still make provision for them to spend time with you. Some CAO's say 'live with both parents' although that doesn't have to mean 50/50.

CAO's last until a child is 16, yes.
