Hi
Anyone had any involvement with Cafcass and the section seven report ? Had my interview with Cafcass officer she greatly concerned me stating " A child of four is perfectly capable of understanding the long term decision never to see her father" I haven't seen her in eight months due to court delays. Is it me ? or is that madness?

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your situation. Can you tell us whether it's your 4 yr old daughter who is saying she doesn't want to see you? I haven't got any experience of Cafcass or a section 7 report. Can you explain what they are? It has to be so hard not seeing your daughter for so long.

Hi CW

Do you have a solicitor? If not we can ask our experts at CCLC to give an opinion - I must say that I would not expect a 4 year old child to understand those implications at all, and in my opinion, a 4 year old probably doesn't even understand the concept of anything long term.
