Does anyone think that dads can get baby blues?

I am not a soft bloke, but i am just finding things get to me more since we had our second little one.

Your comments and help would be appreciated.

yes we do mate, I have had moments of depression and sadness. sometimes where I have felt I just want to sit down and cry.

people often think it's just a womens thing, but men are affected in every way the same as women too.

I was at home with my first son and I ended up locking myself in our flat, wouldnt go out, wouldnt take our lad to groups or socialise either.

he just stayed in his cot to play while I sat and cried on many a day.

still, that was ten years ago, and I have had three kids now.

nothing changes, we can still have our moments. hope that helps,

steve

Hi Muttley,
absolutely !!!
I definitely had all sorts of thoughts and feelings and went through times of feeling overwhelmed.

I think there is also some dynamic when there is more than one baby/child at home. I think it leava you both worn out and not having any time for all the normal daily needs/routines - let alone time to share with eachother.

Most of all I'd like to reassure you that it does pass.
