Recently i gained joint residence of my son following splitting with my partner. She moved out taking my son. The house was put up for sale. Now i have joint residence do i still have to sell the house as this is his natural home and i feel he would be moe comfortable here in surroundings he has always known. I don't have the money to buy her out but i no in role reversal situations the mother could have me pay the mortgage and stay in the house till he was sixteen or eighteen if in education.

Hi Anthony

Thanks for your thread. We do have leagl experts here on Dadtalk but they think you need more Family Law based advice than they can offer here. They recommend you call the CLA on 0845 3454345 and ask for Family advice.

Hope that helps - do let us knwo how it goes and if the service they offer was useful.
