My little boy is four years old and will start school for the first time in a couple of weeks.
I picked him up tonight and was greeted by this wonderful image (photo attached). I'm appalled and feel it's so inappropriate for a four year old to wear his hair like this, especially within a week or so of starting school.
What do you guys think?

I agree with you - I would speak to the school and see what there thoughts are as I would have thought that they wouldn't be too happy - maybe they can reiterate their dress code to your ex (or a letter to all parents to keep it anonymous).
I am as shocked as you are and I am pretty progressive in styling matters.
If I didn't know, I would never have thought he was 4 years old, either.
Totally inappropriate for school.
It makes him look much older than he actually is, doesn't it?
His mothers excuse, which is feeble, is that he asked for it!?!?!?! Apparently he wanted to look like Captain America...
