We have a 5 and 2 yr old. Last weekend we all sat on the sofa and watched Disney film (Bolt). The kids sat quitely watching. It was so relaxing to be at such a point with the kids now. Next weekend we are all going out for a pizza. Could not see being a this point a few years back. Such a nice feeling to be going out with the whole family for a meal and fairly sure we will not have to be rushing to eat and leave.
Good to be at such a point (alright, it won't be every week but still.....) 😉

Wow ! Not not there at all, this is mostly because the youngest is just over 1 (the others 4 & 7) who tends to break up anything that last for longer than about 30 mins!!!!
You must have a 2yr old who likes to watch tv / films, neither of the older ones achieved that until about 4+...

Sounds good! 😀

Hey Batman, not sure she actually really watched it, but sat with her popcorn quite happily on the sofa with us. Really just follows whatever her brother does - it like a physical parrot. He sits, she sits, etc. 🙂

Christmas eve in the afternoon we sat down as a family and watched WALL:E with popcorn etc and it was an amazing time. Our kids were 3 and 4 at the time and really engaged with the whole thing. We have tried to do it a few times since and its been fun.

When the wife went away for the weekend 3 weeks ago the boys and I camped out in pop up play tents in the lounge and watched Robots. It was a brilliant night and we all drifted off to sleep together.

As they are growing up there are loads more possibilities of getting time together, i love it. 😀

I am looking forward to more of it. I started the thread as I was thinking about the times I have heard friends say or even read on this board where dads say how kids take over ones life. There is a really nice light at the end of the tunnel. 😉

Cool thread - it gets even better when they are teens.... I got to see 'Angels & Demons' last week with my teen daughter - not at all my wife's cup of tea..... Any excuse to reward her for doing lots of GCSE revision ;o)

Someone did think she was my wife though - which was both funny, flattering (for me) and extremely worrying at the same time!

Took my nearly-3-year-old to the cinema a couple of months back to see Madagascar 2. It was dark when we got there which she didn't like but we convinced her to sit down. Then it started and she said it was too loud. Seconds later, she was absorbed and, apart from one wee-break, we were there to the end.
Woo-hoo! Vue cinemas have a deal on Sat and Sun mornings (10.30am?) where one adult 'gets in free' with their child and their ticket is only a couple of quid or so. Trying to get them hooked whilst they're young, I guess.
