[Solved] Accessing my son's medical records

Any ideas how to access my son's medical records? The request was brought up in court but hasn't been fulfilled & due to the other issues, has been overlooked by the judge. In 4 contact sessions, I was unable to see my son as he was "too unwell". The ex's barrister claimed to have seen the Dr's notes, but they weren't submitted to me or the court.
I was told that as a father with parental responsibilty, I have the right to ask my son's Dr. But the ex won't tell me with Dr or practice he's registered with.
As they're living in an area that's covered by 2 authorities, that doesn't help. It wouldn't surprise me if he's registered under my ex's maiden name or her family name (even though hehas my surname legally)

Can you remind me - do you have a solicitor representing you?

Hi
as you have PR you are entitled to access your sons medical records as there are only a couple of doctors practices I would go to the surgeries and show proof of PR and take some ID if that fails you can write to the Local Health authority with a letter and proof of PR , when you get the info you then have to put it in writing to the doctors practice.

I think it's 2 health authorities, not 2 surgeries - so there could be dozens or even hundreds of surgeries covered. However, realistically, your ex is probably going to go to one of the surgeries closest to her home, so worth following AK's advice based on that. Perhaps have a word with the practice manager - take along evidence of who you are, the birth certificate and your marriage certificate (will show proof of your ex's maiden name)

Yeah, I have a solicitor.
I'm not meaning to be awkward about this, but...
- The ex moved 160 miles away
- There are no less that 9 surgeries within 2 miles of where she claims to live (at her parents)
- I believe that she's moved out of her parents (again, we've asked for confirmation in court)
- I work during the week (not sure if the Dr's are open on Saturdays)
- The ex took all of the copies of our marriage certificate and our son's birth certificate (she even took my safe that it was kept in)

I could ask either my GP or the surgery that our son was registered in before she left...

Its worth asking the surgery your son was last registered at before they left....they can only say no!

Perhaps you could write to the judge and point out that this particular point has been discussed previously in court but not moved forward, request that it is covered at the next hearing. Get your solicitor to corresponde with hers and insist on the information.
