Hi, I am after some advice.
With a verbal agreement to see children the Army will not give me wknds to see them currently as I am on a course. IS this right? Will I need to get a court order so my employer will give me time off to see them?
I would check with the personnel department of the Army - I don't think they have any legal requirements to give you weekends off to see your children, I think the expectation would be more that the contact order would be expected to fit in with your duties.
thanks - its just annoying when I am only asking 1 wknd a mth as they have sent me to scotland for 18mths and kids are in Suffolk. Will speak to Welfare too Thank You
They may give compassionate leave on occasions - I think they will be well versed on what is available, and within operational limits, the Army will probably try to be amenable - a soldier who has his mind elsewhere isn't going to be as "efficient" as one with his mind on the job.

Speak to the Padre he should be able to sort something out or the famileis officer if he's not too busy humping his way round the patch 😆
