Hi, brillant website to begin with!

im at family law court for the contact order and the final hearing is scheduled for next month.

Im a bit in a muddle at the moment and would appreciate any advice.

i have a 1 year old baby with my new partner and unfortunelty she has planned to spend sometime next month with her parents in scotland.

can i be excuse to attend the final contact order hearing as you would imagine its not easy to look after a young baby and esp when her mom is not around?*
Can I attend the court just before going inside the court room?
Can I attend the court and leave it before the judges calls us in?

*no childcare available whatsoever

I would strongly advise against non attendance! You could try telephoning the court and asking them for a postponment but I really feel that it is essential you atttend as the judge would take a dim view of you not being there....as your partner is going to see her parents and its not a booked holiday as such, couldnt she wait until after the court case to visit her parents?

If the above suggestions doint provide an answer then dont you have a friend that could attend court with you and wait in the waiting room with the baby whilst you go into the courtroom?

Best of luck with it 🙂

I agree with NJ wholeheartedly - it won't help you in court if you are not there.
