So I have submitted my C100 and waiting for a hearing date.

For the first hearing - how helpful is it to have a barrister. I will be subject to lots of false allegations which should not have any substance to them.

How helpful is it to have a barrister?

Any ideas as to fees? (I do not have much money)

Any recommendations?

Many thanks

To the best of my knowledge, barristers still have to be retained by a solicitor - you cannot do this directly, so you would have to factor in the cost of the solicitor as well.

The fees depend on the barrister you can be talking a few hundred to a few thousand pounds.

Many thanks ATCD,

rules have changes - you can appoint directly, but not every barristers accept open referrals.

Either way I have solicitor but wondering if anyone has any recommendations and costings (I've read a couple who have spent only a few hundred- yet I have seen quotes of several thousand as actd says).

Yes the rules changed in 2004. What part of the country are you in?

Have a look at www.stobartsbarristers.co.uk. 🙂
