1st conversation with cafcass. Not sure what sort of appointment it is. I'm worried about saying the wrong thing, I have nothing to hide by the way. I have been told there is a court hearing on 18/07 which my wife and I do not attend and then the court will set a date for an appointment that we have to attend.
The first call with Cafcass is part of their safety check. On the call they will ask basic questions about:
-Where and who you live with.
-Past and current contact arrangement.
-Allegations made against you.
-Allegations that you have against your ex.
Don't worry. You will be fine as it's not a scary call. Focus on mentioning current living and work arrangements that demonstrate that you are able to meet your child's need. Tell them that contact arrangements that you would like.
Be aware that Cafcass is a 3rd family court advisor that. They don't determine facts or test evidence. Therefore during the call, they will make note of what you say but won't cross examine or make a judgement on what the truth is.
In the meantime focus on what you can control which is your living situation, work schedule etc.
