Hi and welcome

I can't say I have any knowledge of this I'm afraid however I will ask the childrens legal centre to log in and advise so you know 100% how to handly this.

Are you not able to go through her mother?

hi darren, thanks for the reply. the mother is totally hostile, i have been through the court system from the moment my daughter was born and was granted supervised contact but the mother would never play ball. last court case was 3 years ago.

Ok well I've asked the CLC to drop by give them a few days to respond as they are generally busy.

Hi,

Obviously the CCLC will be along as well but i'll say that provided that an order was not made at the last set of Court appointments that prohibits you from contacting your daughter, then there is no issue with you doing this.

You are her parent as well. Good Luck 🙂

hi yoji thats what i thought but just want to be sure as i dont want to mess it all up, this is a delicate situation as mother would not hesitate to bring the full force of the law down. cant wait untill she is powerless to do anything.
just hope she has not poisend my girl to much.

Dear Stormarria,

Thanks for your query. Because your daughter is 16, there should be no limitations on you contacting her unless a court order states otherwise. At 16 a child is free to leave home, and a contact or residence order will only run until 16 unless it states otherwise. If the mother of your daughter has concerns about you contacting your daughter, then she would have to contact social services.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us on 0808 802 0008

Many thanks,

The Childrens Legal Centre.
