Assuming

  • I am representing myself
  • I am the Litigant.
  • Mediation was a farce & failed, FM1 issued.
  • Her demands were unreasonable, not equitable & the kids (youngest 11) all objected anyway.
  • I earn more than the #1300 pcm listed as 'aidable' so am paying for this.

Roughly (100?)- How much will it cost me for each of the Three hearings:
For a case of Residence of 3 kids in the family home + Parental Responsibility?

It costs £200 to apply for residency and PR and you would do that with forms C100 and C1 .

I thought you were married Hitch....you wouldn't need PR if that's the case.

So I don't need to pay her solicitors if I loose? or for court people & judges, clerks etc only the application fee? so #200 for 3 hearings leading to a determination in Residence! ?

People at work who have been thru the mill all say don't bother with solicitors they don't help, have limited insight into your family, are motivated by the cash & are adversarial - be yourself & get organized & be passionate about what you want. Judes often react better to real parents vs over familiar to the process professionals?

its unlikely you would unless there are some serious problems raised and you have not shown to be reasonable, which should hopefully not be an issue.

Good luck

I would agree entirely with your work colleagues.

As long as you are prepared to respect court procedure and show yourself to be a calm, reasonable and loving father it should work for you.....of course there are no guarantees. We will all do our very best to help and support you.

I have never heard of either party having to pay the others costs, even when there has been unreasonable behaviour and wasting of court time. It can go over three hearings, it can go to a contested hearing or if allegations surface, a finding of fact.
