Earlier this year I was contcted by the CSA as they said they were doing a re assessment on my case. I fully complied with them as I always have done and provided them with the information that they asked for, wage slips etc.
After some weeks they contacted me again and told me the assessment was completed and that I was in arrears by almost £2000!
I have since been told by them that the assessment was started some 6 months before they actually first contacted me and that was the dated the arrears were from.
I contacted them several times to dispute this and got diferent answers each time and then started to receive refund cheques from them. I contacted them again to see why this was and was told that it was because I was overpaying and the refunds were definitely due to me and I was free to go ahead and cash them.
Now I have been told that they were not due to me and the sum of them has been added to my original arrears.
So now after writing to their complaints department I am now left with more arrrears than at the start.
Surely when they do a re assessment they should contact you straight away and not wait 6 months by which time you are already in arrears?
Can anyone shed any light on this please?
