Hi
I have never posted on a forum so apologies but I am desperate for some help with the csa. Me and my ex split after I found her in bed with one of my mates.
I was paying her for my daughter weekly in cash stupid I know now. I then came out of work so agreed to give her money out of my dole money I was getting she wasn't happy wanted all the money I got. When I refused she took me to the csa this was in 2008 I have been paying the csa a day do agree I have missed payments that I agree I should pay back. I called several times as I felt the amount I was paying was incorrect but they told me it was fine I was paying £380 a month but was still in arrears I only get £177 a week I could not Offord these after 2 years they have agreed I have paid the wrong amounts since 2010 so have now reduced my payments but when I questioned the arrears they have refused to adjust these. For example I pay £100 a week don't pay for 4 weeks so I am in arrears of 400 but they then say I should of only been paying 50 per week so my arrears should then be 200. When explaining this they did agree with me but still refused to do anythink about this. I have written to them and nothing. I have wouldn't mind paying this even though I shouldn't if my ex really needed the money but she doesn't she works part time claims as a single mum even though she isn't buys a brand new car each year new house and loves to rub that I haven't. Got a penny in my face. I now have another child with my new partner and I am really struggling to pay these arrears I have advised them I am currently going through debt Management and I can pay the maintained but not the arrears they want £100 per month for arrears. Where do I stand does anyone know and am I right in saying the arrears should be adjusted.
Many thanks

Have you informed the CSA regarding your new child as you should get a reduction in your monlthy payments. I would also book an appointment with your local MP to explain your situation regarding the CSA dragging their heels, Your not the only one caught out paying money and not having it down as child care costs etc just a shame the CSA always take the womans word. Can you prove you were making payments on a regualr basis? As this should also be taken into account ie paying for rent/joint debet etc and see a reduction

As Ivan says...if the CSA won't budge on this contact your MP...explain the situation in detail and ask for their help in this....it worked for a mate of mine to get the CSA to respond quicker at least
