Hi All

Just a quick question. I have had a letter from my ex-wife's soliciotr informing me she is 'vacating the matremonial home' and is unable to contribute towards the mortgage.

I just wondered, besides the abandoning of the mortgage she is liable for, is there any legislation that I can request information on where she intends to move with my 2 children, in respect of there welfare?

Cheers

Hi there AdyC and welcome 🙂

...If your ex leaves without informing you of their whereabouts you can apply for a Seek and Find Order through the courts. It might be worth replying to her solicitor requesting their proposed new address. You could inform the solicitor that if this information is withheld you would have no hesitation in going ahead with a Seek and Find Order through the courts, and you would also apply for more defined contact at the same time. Point out that this could be avoided if she were to give you rthe information you requested.

Have you thought about trying Mediation? This is where you and your ex would meet at one of their centres, the meeting would be guided by a trained mediator, this would allow you both to discuss such issues as the mortgage and the proposed move, as well as contact with the children. Here is a link ~ www.nfm.org.uk

Good luck with everything 🙂
