Hi

Apart from seeking a settlement on the family home after divorce, I am now looking for contents from the household. I have tried to be reasonable with my ex and have asked her for a cash settlement, she just doesn't want this to know. Although I am now living with a new partner, I am basing this on starting MY life again. Can you guys plz give me an example of a complete list of contents that people have put together in their experience.

Many thanks

In my own experience, I pretty much left everything on the basis that it wasn't worth the solicitors fees and aggravation in fighting for it - I took stuff that was clearly mine and anything that had a sentimental value to me, but otherwise it was worth it to get away.

I did the same as actd, we had loads of joint belongings and things that I had payed for as they needed replacing and we didn't have the money in the joint account to cover the cost, I also left things that were mine from before we were even together.

Like has been said on here before, you have to choose your battles and work out which ones are worth fighting for and weigh up the cost of the legal bill against whet they are worth to you (not in pounds)
