A quick question - does anyone know what differences there are in German law if a marriage that took place in Germany had to be separated? We've been resident in the UK for the duration. I've done some internet searching that seems to say that there aren't many differences, but maybe someone knows from experience! Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Hi Robin,

As you are both resident in the UK, then it doesn't really matter that you married in Germany, your seperation/divorce will be governed by British Law.

Thank you both. That's very helpful.

Yes, I'm talking of divorce, but hopefully it never has to happen.

Thanks again.
