Hi there,

my ex complaint at the court that i had suicidal attempts and mental health which raised the question about Supervise Contact. The court ask my GP to fil the report regarding my mental/physical health.

GOOD news! we got the report(a letter) from my doctor. He cleverly didnt mentioned anything about the past or suicidal attempts, instead just wrote that im not under of any mental health team or on medication.

My concern is, can my ex ask the court to confirm with my doctor if I had suicidal attempts to prove my mental condition in the past? or if i was under any psychiatric department. And what else she can do to prove my mental health

Hi,

I've just read your post, it sounds tough! Do you have a solicitor representing you in court who can give you advice or are you representing yourself?

I think the simple answer is that it's up to the court whether they want to order anything more detailed, and your ex will be persuading them to do so. The problem you have to face, and the decision you need to make is that if you choose not to reveal everything to the court in the first instance, the court may decide what you have given is enough, but if they don't (and reasonable caution on their part might persuade them to ask for a further report), then they may consider your reluctance to tell the court everything is not a good reflection on you. I'd certainly talk it through with your solicitor as to whether it would be better for you to ask for a fuller report of your own accord.

thanks for your reply.

the hearing is in next few days and my solicitor told me that Shes gona stick to 'Supervised Contact' cuz she believe the GP report is not explicit enough to reveal my mental condition in the past.

Solicitors are useless to be honest with...

Im going to pickup my daughter from her school, With or Without Court's Order. I have done once in the past- and i dont think court could do anything! Only thing she can do is complain my solicitor, right?!

Hi Info,

While there is no legal reason why you cannot do this, i would say that as proceedings are going ahead, you should definately consider what a Court would make of this. Its not going to go down well...

I agree with yoji - don't do this, you'll regret it very soon if you do. Your ex is the parent with care, and the first thing she's likely to do is call the police and say she's worried for her daughter's safety, and that you have a history of mental problems - that's going to bring the police down on you like a ton of bricks, and while you're trying to sort that out, she's going to be in the family court with the police report as additional evidence, and the chances are that your contact will be supervised only for much, much longer than you would want.
