Guardian ad Litem (GAL)

Hi all,

I have just been appointed a GAL not met the person yet.
Not sure what their role is, are they as crooked as SS & CAFCASS??
In the past I heard positive things about a GAL however, these days I know nobody who has one,
It seems they are being extinct.

If you have had experience with a GAL could you advise me what to expect.

Is it true:
1) They will attend all hearings?
2) If you dont agree with their report, you have a chance to question them on the stand?

Many thanks
Top Cat

Hi Top Cat,

I don't have any real experience of this, so I've asked a couple of the other dad's to pop by give you their thoughts...

This is a new one on me as well, I thought that Cafcass took this role.

I'll ask the CCLC is they can clarify on this.
