Hi dad.info

Me and my partner have been on the Jeremy Kyle show for a dna test in result of finding the twins are my sons.
Since the show my partner is refusing to put me on the birth certificate even though i have national TV evidence that the twins are mine from a dna test.

what shall i do now?

You will need to get to court and get your parental rights and a court order from the magistrates so the registrar will add you to the birth certificate.

Also the DNA test might not be by a recognised company of the court and you could be looking at 500 qquid to get an official one done.

I would try mediation first, and if you get the agreement thro mediation, you still have to get your partner to the registrar to have your name added.

The last thinking i would ever do is go on THAT show tho.

edit - here is the link for the mediation, Nannyjane had posted it in another topic

Hi there,

As has been mentioned above, you could try mediation....legal aid is still available for this service and you can find out if you are eligible here www.gov.uk/check-legal-aid

If this doesn't work for you then you Cana poly to the courts for Parental Responsibility and once you have this you can have your name added to the birth certificate.

Legal aid is no longer available for this service so you will either have to pay a solicitor or represent yourself. There are many dads here that have chosen to self represent and you will get plenty of advice and support. You could at the same time apply for a contact order if the mother is also denying you access to your children.

If you are going to do this yourself you will need a form C1, as there has already been a DNA test I wouldn't imagine that the mother will say that you are not the father so the need for further tests shouldn't apply hopefully. If you intend to apply for a contact order you will also need to submit a C100 form. There is lots of info I the stickys at the top of the Legal Eagle section so have a food look around and get as much information as you can.

If you are on benefits or a low income you may be entitled to an exemption from the court fees which would normally cost £200. To find out more and to claim an exemption you will need form EX160a.
