im a new dad and due to recent financial circumstances i have to applied for JSA for the very first time. It been 6 months now since I been undertaking private trainings to improve the chances to get a job. But now JobCenter has asked my partner to come for a work focus interview.

Ive been the breadwinner in the house and with a new infant..i dont know i would she cope with a job and looking after my 1 year old child.

would they consider my situation and care of my baby before assigning anything onto my partner?

She shouldn't have to do anything, when I was on JSA (now ESA, unfortunately) I was the main claimant and I did all the signing on and job hunting. My other half looked after the children and never had anything from the job centre.
