Because of my very low-budget can anyone please recommend a good cheap mckenzie friend who covers the northwest area?

Cheers.

Hi Jasey 🙂

I've just contacted the McKenzie Friend that helped my son last time he was in court. He's based on the Wirral, he charged £150 for three hours. He liaised with CAFCASS and her solicitor, went through the paperwork and sat in court with my son. He also sent me templates for the Position Statement and read through and made some suggestions to improve it. We felt he was helpful even though the hearing didn't go too well....but that was the fact we had such a lousy judge!

As soon as he gets back to me and gives me permission to pass on his details on the Forum I'll get back to you 🙂

NJ I'm looking to go back to court and get a variation order to get my EX involved with the indirect contact which i dont think she will be happy with because at the moment i think she has it easy by just me sending things.

You could try the Citizens Advice Bureau, they sometimes have a list of volunteer MFs and these guys .(or girls!) would only require their expenses paid. It's worth a try!

Well if you can get the court fees refunded then you might as well give it a go.... The courts in Manchester and Liverpool have what's called a Personal Support Unit based in the court, they are there to help people that are self representing, I'm not sure what they are allowed to do but I will find their website and contact details if you are using a court in either of these places and pass it on to you, just let me know 🙂

The guy my son uses is attached to the Wirral Branch of FNF....there are some dodgy MFs out there so always do your research. My son and I had a negative experience with the first MFS we contacted before we got hold of the guy that helped us...he told us there are a number of MFs about that are no good and charge silly money....the guy we sacked off wanted £650 up front!

Hi, you best chance is to go to a local FnF (families need fathers www.fnf.org.uk ) meeting, they will have personal experience of the good ones to use locally.

Agree with actd. Have a look for your local FNF group and they might be able to point you in the right direction.
