[Solved] My Day in Court

Hi All

My first post, so here goes.

I have my day in court next week where I will hopefully be awarded more conatct than I'm currently getting. My question is on the day my solicitor has said that she will not be there and that the barrister is very capable of running the proceedings. She says that this will keep the cost down and that she doesnt normally attend.

Anyone else been there and done that? I cant decide whether to make sure my solicitor is present or not, I have asked her to keep the date free, which she has. Has anyone else been to court without a solicitor but with a barrister?

Thanks for reading this.

Hi

That's not unusual - your solicitor wouldn't be able to speak anyway and a barrister is at home in a court environment. If your solicitor has properly briefed the barrister, then it would just be extra expense for no additional benefit. Hopefully, you should have time with your barrister before going into court to go through the details.
