[Solved] Need a Brentford solicitor

I have a solicitor that I trust, which is good, but I'm due in court in 4 weeks 160 miles away in Brentford.
My solicitor would charge for the (6 hour) travel time & the travel costs. So I'm looking for a solicitor to represent me that is local to Brentford.
I've phoned 3 law firms in the last 10 days, to see whether they would be willing. I've only been able to speak to the admin/secretarial people, all have said that the solicitor would call me back - none have.

Try this website

www.legal500.com

It lists the top solicitors by area.

Can't you ask your solicitor to recommend one. The law society also has a registry of solicitors.

Thanks NannyJane, unfortunately, my solicitor doesn't know any recommended solicitors in the area of the court. There are quite a few firms in the area, it's just a shame none have the decency to call a prospective client back

Heya I am not far away....SW London......Do you need a solicitor or barrister? Solicitors tend not to represent.....only barristers......As my mates father in law said....Brentford was the last stop to take a dump on the way to heathrow....(my mate was a brentford fc fan).....

If you need a barrister I know a good one.

If you need a solicitor I know a good one but he is expensive but very father friendly.

The legal 500 and chambers 2013 are good starting points.....

Likewise, I know a very good one in central London (the one I used) but he is far from cheap.

Do you live in Brentford and your solicitor lives 160 miles away, or do you both live 160 miles from Brentford?

My solicitor is local to me, we're both 160 miles from Brentford.

Boycie, I'll speak to the barrister that you suggested, once I've confirmed the date with the court.

In which case, I would continue to use your solicitor and then have him engage a barrister local to Brentford when necessary.

The alternative is to pay your solicitor for the travel - if you go with him on the train, you have 3 hours when you can have a good meeting with him about the case and hearing. Th return journey won't be quite as fruitful, but nonetheless, you can talk about next steps etc.
