Hi there,
First time on and we are currently filling in the Child Maintenance enquiry form sent from the CSA.
They want me to send my last 5 payslips as I am paid weekly. This is very unfortunate timing for me, but not the ex. I have the past 6-8 weeks been temporarily doing lots of overtime for a rushed job which my boss would probably write a letter to confirm. I count myself lucky to be able to do this because the firm is not doing too well and almost everyone is on an overtime ban apart from me (appears I am the only one bring money into the company). Last year there were quite a few redundancies and the threat of yet more is still hanging.
What I can't see as fair, if you apply for a Mortgage, they won't take into account any overtime because it's not guaranteed. Also, tax credits base their calculations out on previous years earnings from P60.
How comes the CSA CAN take into account temporary overtime and do not work their figures out on a previous years wages from a P60? It seems very unfair and surely if you were astute you could work a basic week for 5 weeks before the CSA contact you (or take holiday/sick pay so as to get maintenance calculations down?
As I understand it, the CSA will work my maintenance out including my overtime.
Am I right? Is this right and fair?
Can I appeal or get round it?
Many thanks in anticipation.
