Hi,
Can anybody help to confirm?

My son is part time at college and part time work and his mum, he, still qualifies for child benefits.
This has meant that since he left school two years ago i have continued to pay CSA.
Payment of CSA has never been an issue as i completely accept my responsibilities but after paying for 12 years with not one missed payment i was looking forward to today!
My son is 19 today and i was informed by the CSA on Saturday after i phoned them that the legislation is changing today, 10th dec, in that CSA will continue to 20 for children who qualify!

I can not find anything confirming this anywhere on the internet or on the DWP CSA website.
Any body?

Just searched for ages and found this , sorry it looks like they sneaked it in and its now 20
Definition of child The Child Support Maintenance Calculation Regulations 2012
95.
The definition of child applies to all children in the scheme: a qualifying child, a relevant other child, a child supported under a family-based arrangement and a non-resident parent who is a child.
96.
The definition of child should be the same as used by Child Benefit for those aged up to their 20th birthday. The 2008 Act provided an increase in the age limit of a child from 19 to 20, mirroring a Child Benefit change made in 2006.
97.
The Regulations provide a definition of child which cross-refers to that used by HMRC in Child Benefit legislation. This covers situations where a child aged 16-19 in specified circumstances, for example, undertaking full-time non-advanced education, continues to be eligible for Child Benefit.
98.
The link to Child Benefit offers a simple test for the Commission in deciding whether a child is within scope of the scheme.

Thanks very much for the update and sadly confirmation! :boohoo:

Can anybody clarify the rules of the changes though?

I have never received any written communication advising extension to 20?

When did the rules change, on what date?

As explained in my initial post my son turned 19 on the 10th Dec and I was only advised on the 8th Dec that the legislation was changing on the 10th Dec and my son was included!
