Hi there folks.
Second time on here and second question - this time my question is on DNA Tests if anyone has any experience of undergoing one....!
I previously mentioned that I am to become a father in Dec this year after a shortlived 7-week relationship. I was advised by a Solicitor and the CLC to confirm my status as the Father.
I have the consent of the Mother - of sorts - to undergo one when the little girl is born (was told it was a girl last Friday). I have two questions:
1) The mother has stated that while she consents to the DNA Test, she will not actually attend it (to be honest, the suggestion of a DNA did not go down well, as you'd most likely expect). Does this qualify as consent? I was under the impression that she has to attend (but not with me - she can take the child herself) but is there anyone who can clarify?
2) With the consent "so far" stated, this means that I can enquire about a DNA Test. Before I enquire I was just wondering if anyone has any pointers about arranging one, and with the birth expected in December, do I even need to arrange/enquire about one yet?
I appreciate that this is a bit of a weird question but if anyone is able to offer some friendly advice I'd be very grateful.
Mr E
