Hi what a great forum but could someone advise my son how to fill in the c100 for so he does not get caught in the loophole.
We have been trying to get my sons x partner to agree for his dad to take his son to florida for 2 weeks staying at his grandparents villa in florida and too cut a long story short she has used every excuse in the book to stop him and after 3 years its time to take the court route.
My son want to fill in the form himself simply he carn't afford the legal fees as when she left him he was left with all bills etc.
He has pr as hes named on the birth certificate and has contact with his son a few stay over per week but even this is now getting more difficult each week and less family time with dads side of the family.
It putting a great strain on all family members.
HOW IS it best to word the part of the form to ask the courts to grant this holiday access? is their any orginasions who could adise and how daunting is going to family court with out a solisitor??

Hi Dislyn and welcome to the forum

It may be best to have a word with the CCLC - a link to their website is at the bottom of this website. The can provide free legal advice as long as you don't have a solicitor acting for you, and they could certainly give advice filling out the form and applying for a specific instruction order, which is what is needed for the holiday in Florida.

I haven't represented myself, but plenty of dads on here have. While it is daunting, with proper preparation, there is no reason at all why your son can't achieve as much as any solicitor could on his behalf - there are a number of success stories on here. Please let us know how he goes on, and feel free to ask for as much advice as you need.

Hi there,

Actd is right going to court without legal representation is daunting but it isn't as bad as your mind makes it (I speak from experience as one of the success stories actd mentioned)

As said just be well prepared have a list of things you want to get sorted along with possible arguments against and then have answers to these ready too.

The legal team here can help, and we can offer moral support and share our experience and opinions too.

Keep us posted and if you have any questions just ask,
