Hi everyone, just joined today.

I'm awaiting my first court hearing and would like to have a family member attend as a Mckenzie Friend, I've had a look around but am struggling to find the correct procedure in asking the Judge for permission. Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

I will ask the Coram Children's Legal Centre to pop by and offer some advice.

Welcome to the site btw. Why not tell us a little about yourself ?

Yes tried to have a live chat with them but they wanted my home address and tel number which I won't give out.

I am a dad of three, nearly two years down the line and still not divorced!

Was married to a control freak who uses the children to hurt me, have never had my kids overnight, my partner of 17 months has never met my kids and am now at the point when I have to go to court because there is no negotiating with her.

Happy days!!

Just an update, went to court for the first hearing and it went well.

Didn't resolve anything but have made a small step in the right direction.

Cafcass and the Judge were really fair with me, it's not as bad as you think it will be.

I've read alot of post's on this site and the one thing I would say to all those Dad's who are having a tough time, and getting tired of the fight is to keep going, don't give up, anything worth having is going to be hard to get.

Write everything down, get organised, seek as much good advice as you can get, and don't get fobbed off by so called "professionals".

My fight goes on, but everyday I get closer to what I want.

A fair and proper relationship with my kids.

Good luck.

Excellent news. It's always good to get these results because it then gives the confidence that the system can work.
