Today the cafcass lady rung me to tell me the outcome and what her recommendations would be for when it goes back to court with my ex. She is recommending that I see my daughter in a place called child core for 6 two hour sessions. When she spoke to my 9 year old daughter she was adamant that she didn't want to see me but couldn't give the cafcass lady a specific reason why. The only thing my daughter did say was that she thinks I am going to snatch her? I have no idea how she has got this idea into her head to be honest but apparently when my ex spoke to cafcass she said my daughter refuses to read my letters as it makes her anxious and more fearful because I know what shes doing, what school she goes to and where she lives and that it makes her think I can snatch her even easier. I told the cafcass lady that if I had had any intention of doing that I would have done it a long time ago and the cafcass lady agreed with me. She said my daughter was a shy and timid girl which means she is no different to how she was when I was seeing her, she has always very much been like that. Cafcass are apparently going to speak with my ex to hear her feelings on the outcome but cafcass said that regardless the court will order these sessions to take place. I am hoping that there will now be no obstacles from my ex and I can prove to my daughter that I have no intention of snatching her and just want to finally have that father/daughter relationship with her.

That's fantastic news Tandn 🙂

I know you were really concerned that you wouldn't be awarded any contact, but it's clear that CAFCASS want to help you rebuild the relationship you had with your daughter. Do everything as per their instructions and I think you'll be able to look forward to a more positive new year...
