Hi there,
firstly- Im grateful for all the assistance and support this forum have had offered me so far.

Im deeply concerned about requesting variation in my contact order for my daughter. Since the Contact Order is in place and there's no legal proceedings going on, Im wondering if there is a need of a change in Contact Order (ofcourse any major changes)- will I need to apply for legal aid again? if so, can I change my solicitor?

Changing solicitor from one to another is chaotic tasks, I need to raise complain after complain to get my case transferred to another solicitor.

Can you please advice if I need to put a request for a change in Contact order(for any major reasons) do I have to go for the same solicitor which I used before, or can I approach any solicitor for assistance since it will be a new legal aid certificate.

waiting for the response.

Hi,

I'm no expert on this, but I would think that if your certificate of Legal Aid funding has expired, then you may be able to make a fresh application with a new solicitor. It's incredibly difficult to change solicitors whilst in receipt of Legal Aid, because the solicitor appears on the funding certificate. I'm sure the CLC will be more informed about such matters and would be able to advise you further...

... I don't think people fully appreciate some of the problems people in receipt of Legal Aid can face. I too have been disatisfied with the service I receive from my solicitor. My emails have been ignored repeatedly, correspondence has been sent out that is factually incorrect and to top it all my solicitor once told me, quite bluntly I might add, that she didn't prioritise Legal Aid cases!?!?!? You're expected to make complaint after comaplaint after complaint before you can attempt to justify a change of solicitor to the LSC, but even then there are no guarantees that you'll be able to transfer your case elswhere. You're effectively stuck with your first choice, so it's a case of buyer beware!

Good luck moving forward with this and it would be good to know whether you're successful in changing your solicitor!
