CERN are switching on the biggest particle acceleartor on the 10th, personally I think that it's not going to wipe out life - but there are quite a few people who are nervous. Of course this might be the answer to the Fermi Paradox, that every (space) civilization that has arisen ends up building a large particle accelartor before they get into serious space travel and wipe out their own plant... 😆 😈 😆 ...
