Dear Dads,
When a new baby is unwell in hospital, it can be hard for stressed-out parents to keep all their friends and family up-to-date with what's happening. Researchers at the University of Aberdeen are developing a system that lets parents send automatic, personalised updates about their baby to friends and relatives. To get it right, we need the views of dads just like you.
We want to know the kinds of messages that you would give to friends and family. You don't need to have had a baby in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) to take part! The survey takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. You can find the survey here:
http://www.abdn.ac.uk/websurveys/nicu/ .
The survey will be running throughout March 2010.
Who can take part? If you are a dad, foster dad or step-dad, you can take part in the survey.
There are a couple of exceptions:
1. Medical staff who work in Neonatal Intensive Care or Special Care cannot take part.
2. Parents who have experienced perinatal loss cannot take part. This is because we do not have the resources to provide support, if the survey brings back upsetting memories for you.
