[Solved] An English Stay-at-home Dad in NY

Hello

Thought I'd say hi. I've been lurking on few Dad sites for awhile and figured I'd join in here at long last. I am a late-thirties English stay-at-home dad living in the USA with an American wife. Got two kids (one 5, one 2) and have been home with them nearly 18 months after the wife and I swapped. Now I'm the one who gets to wipe dropped ice cream off the trampoline and ask who is responsible for that wet patch on the couch.

Anyhoo - as I'm enslaved in a foreign country I've been trying to keep grounded to the British way of parenting by reading this site. It's been nice to remind myself that it's not just massive cars, Walmart and high fructose corn syrup. I miss Britain a little and to keep myself sane I've been writing a pretty popular (at one point....) parenting blog called Chronicles of Captain Cheesestick about raising kids in the Land of The Imperial Stormtrooper. I hope it's okay to plug it here for anyone who wants a read -:

Cheers!

Hi and welcome

We've have one or two stay at home dads here in the past - can't remember if they're still on here (no doubt someone will remind me) so you're not alone, though you are rather more distant geographically speaking.

Have you read the blogs on here also? Worth reading them from the beginning if you have the time 🙂

Hello

Yes I have read bits and pieces of a few blogs on here. Always good to see how other Dads are suffering as well.

😀

Ah, but did you read the blogs from about a year back by Tim (I think) where Dadtalk gave him a TENS device to try out - now that really did sound like suffering 😀

Hi there

So you are the preverbial Englishman in New York as Sting would say!!

So here is the challenge - any other dads claiming to be further away from blighty - there must be!
