Hi All, New To The Webiste, Friend Of Mine Advised Me To Join As He Said Was Very Helpfull.
Well Im 20 Years Old And Due To Be A Father For The First Time In The Long Time Of 9 Days Time So Of Course Got Lots Of Things Running Through My Mind, But All In All Im Sooo Excited I Cant Wait Just Wish Paternity Leave Was A Bit Longer To Enjoy It 🙂
All In All Both Me And My Partner Have Coped Pretty Well During The Whole Pregnancy, Untill Recently, Usually I Sleep About 7 Hours A Night But For The Last 2 Weeks Im Lucky If I Get 4 Hours Sleep. Just Wondering If Its Something To Do With The Fact That Its Getting Closer To The Due Date Or If Just Too Much On My Mind Or Something, Any Tips Or Advice Be Much Appreciated.

Hi DanDubbleD,

Welcome to the site mate. Wow a dad in about 9 days.

You are bound to have trouble sleeping at the moment mate, loads of things going through your mind and a massive change to your lifestyle. Its normal - you won't get a full nights sleep after the birth either - so get used to it. 😆

Cut down on your caffeine, don't watch TV in bed before going to sleep and try to clear your mind when you got to bed (try closing your eyes and imagining a relaxing place, I always think of laying in the bright warm sunshine on a beach).

Do you know if your expecting a son or a daughter ?

Have you checked out the blogs on the site by Simon D ? he's a newbie dad and has been sharing his experiences with our community.

Looking forward to chatting with you mate and reading your posts.

Gooner

I Know Can Hardly Belive It Myself, Still Remember Getting The Test Like It Was Yesterday And Now I Could Be Any Day Now A Father, Scary But At The Same Time Amazing.

I Just Would Have Thought That I Would Be Sleeping A Lot To Make Up For What Ill Lose Not The Other Way Around, I Like My Sleep You See 😆
Guess I Better Get Used To Not Having Much Sleep Then Eh

I Tried To Make Myself More Relaxed And What Not Just Doesnt Seem To Have The Desired Effect On Me, I Work Nights Aswell So My Gets Messed Up A Lot Which I Know Isnt Good But I Need To Put Food On The Table At The End Of The Day.

Am Expecting A Daughter, Have A Feeling Shes Gunna Be A Right Daddys Girl As Soon As She Hears My Voice Shes Wiggling Away Sooo Cant Wait.

Ill Have A Lil Browse Through, Sure There's Much I Can Learn And Hopefully Share

Dan

Hi, I notice that the 9 days have passed already. Are you a dad yet?

Hope so.
