Hi I am in the process of completion for emigration to Oz , my son who lives with his mother my ex is 14yrs old and is fully aware of my pending move , he has been extremely mature and understanding of my move and its been the toughest decision I have ever had to make , I pay maintenance for him and will continue to do so once I have emigrated , but only now is she starting to get extremely awkward and accusing me of dis-owning him and walking out on him etc , I have a very good relationship with my son and it is my intention to get him over as much as possible for hols visits etc .
She is now demanding that I give her information that I am unable and not happy to give her and don't know where I stand ?
Any help or advice would be most grateful.

Hi there,

I think its up to you what information you give her TBH...it sounds a little like emotional blackmail, and rather than being awkward and making accusations, she should be helping to make your departure as painless as possible for your son and not filling his head with doubt and insecurity.

The best thing you can do is to give your son lots of reassurance to counter his mums behaviour.

Hi

I agree with NJ,

what you tell her is up to you, she doen't need to know where you plan to live or any of your plans for that matter, she will need an address and contact number for when your son visits but she doesn't really need anything till then.

Yeah I agree it sounds like if she plays you now then she will be the hero picking up the pieces once you have left

Remember there is skype and other ways of keeping in contact

...and of course holidays when he is old enough!
