Hi everyone , not sure where to post this so apologies if it is in the wrong place and if anybody is able to move it to the appropriate place i would be more than grateful .
Im going to give a brief description to start with but am willing to post more if need be 🙂 ) , it all started almost three years ago when i split with my ex , she was pregnant at the time with our third child and stupid as it was i pretended to have an affair as we were constantly arguing , fighting and causing distress to our other two children , it wasnt what i wanted to do but could see no other way out of our predicament , yeah you may have heard stories like this before but i swear on my childrens life this is how it was !!
To cut a long story short she went down to kent where we are both from to have our son , whilst i was stuck up in Cumbria due to work commitments and her not wanting me to be anywhere near here which was her choice and i stood by it .
She then got with someone else who she had been seeing eleven months previous (yeah i know it gets worse ) and moved to newcastle with him which was closer to me which i was happy with as i was able to see my children more frequently , i met some else in february of last year and we married in april of this year . I was promised that the kids would be at my wedding up until the week before when she decided to pull the plug on it , was upset but little i could do as had no time left to sort anything .
Have been promised them during the last week of april as well but very little believe that this will happen now 🙁 (
Also two days before the wedding i was hit with a phoncall from the CSA which i complied to fully and honestly and immediately instructed them to take the £75 ?(25% of my wage) to be taken weekly from my pay packet , hence to say they stalled for six weeks and it is now for the next few weeks costing me £120 in deductions from them before my own outgoings , pretty fed up and on top of that my kids are 400 miles away from me , i went to see a solicitor who was quite helpful and has informed me i am entitled to legal aid as i am only on £180 a week take home and that is all me and ,y wife have to live on right now , The CAB have said i am entitled to no benefits whatsoever ??
My eldest was born in 2003 and due to law i have no parental responsibility towards him , my daughter was born in 2005 and i do have that with her and my youngest , well i am not even on the certificate so am knackered there as well , was informed i could ask my ex to sign a parental responsibility agreement for them all or ask a court to inforce it on my behalf but am unure what this all means ??
Also as at present i havent fuel money or spending money spare to have them , am i able to get the CSA to help me if i was to have them frequently ??
Sorry if it sounds confusing just have so much going on right now
Stuart

Hi,

with regards to the CSA< if you have your children for 52 days (and nights) a year, then you can reduce the maintenance by 1/7th - however, I would be very cautious about doing this as there have been plenty of instances where the mother has cut down on contact in order to stop the maintenance payments being cut. You are able to include travelling costs over £15 per week in your pay calculation, so this may reduce your maintenance.
