Yep, below the "submit" button when you are replying, there's an options panel, and there's an option in there to "notify me when a reply is posted" which works on that topic only. I think you can change your overall options if you want to be notified for all posts.

Surely, though, you want to come on the forum every day for a dose of our sparkling wit and reparti 😀

Notifications should work, exactly as Actd has mentioned, but have been a bit flakey over the last couple of months. But fear not because the site is about to go through an upgrade this month and as part of that we will be getting a flash new forum (fear not all the wonderful posts and threads will be staying) that will be fully functional and with some extra shiney new functions as well (you heard it here first).

Personally I think the suggestion of popping by on a daily basis is the best idea anyway.

How can you survive without a daily dose of DadTalk..........

Goonerplum has pointed out to me that this will be my 1234 th post (in fact, I've just noticed that he'[censored] a nice round 800 posts today) and that this should be a 'good one' (you mean the rest aren't? 😆 )

So a few stats:
I've been a member for just over 2 years, a couple of days ago my average posting rose to just over 1.5 posts per day, and my posts account for over 12.5% of total postings, in other words, one in every eight postings on here is mine.

My personal ambitions for this forum is that my posting average continues to rise, and my overall postings percentage starts to drop - and the only way that both of these can happen is for everyone else to post loads as well 🙂
A forum isn't about one or a few people posting - it's a whole community. I've been running another forum for 9 years now and it's been hugely successful because everyone joins in. I also set up a forum which failed because however enthusiastic I was about posting, no-one else joined in for any length of time so everyone lost interest. So I've seen how forums can work and how they can fail, and it's simply down to it's members - that means all of you. Don't forget, this is called DadTalk - it's not just a place for help, it's a place to talk.

So now I'll shut up for a (short) while so everyone else can get a word in edgeways 😆

Congrats on reaching 1234 posts actd.

I totally agree with you about the whole community posting.

Lets make this the year of dads talking with us all chating about anything from football, tech, gaming, to legal issues and family stuff - onwards and upwards dads.

I bow down to your number of post's, my 60 seems very low compaired.

However I totally agree, I've seen forums run and run and also fail because only a few post or even log on, This is a great place to visit for advice, but it's also a good place for just a chat.

I really glad I found it, it does seem that people drop in for advice and then leave as soon as they have gotten it though.

Think this thread is going a little off topic 😳
