My boyfriend has 2 children from his previous marriage. Does anyone know if we get married whether they will take my income into account for the CSA payments?

Hi Clare,

I have asked one of our Child Maintenance Options advisors to pop by and answer this question for you.

Hi, I'm Sarah, a Child Maintenance Options consultant.

The CSA work out child maintenance payments using a set formula, which is based on the income of the non-resident parent. Other factors are taken into account (including the number of children that need child maintenance, and if the non-resident parent lives with any other children) but this does NOT include a new partner's income.

For more information about how the CSA work out child maintenance, vist www.direct.gov.uk/childmaintenance

I hope this information helps you and your boyfriend.
