Hello,

Myself and my wife are due to become parents for the first time in March 2013 and I am not sure what benefit entitlements we are allowed.

We both earn 22k per year so I understand that we will be entitled to to Child benefit. However iam not sure if we will be entitled to child tax credits or any other benefits ?

Also do the government offer a baby grant for your first child?

I would appreciate any help regarding my questions above or any other relevant information.

Thank you! 🙂

I'm not sure what's happening with the tax credits, but I would say you are entitled - might be worth giving the Inland Revenue a call, they are happy to pay money if it's due so it's not a case of them not telling you so they don't have to pay.
