Hey guys, looking for some like minded people in the same situation as me (stay at home dad) to chat and chill with, haven't looked over the site yet but I'm just about to.

I'm based in North Wales and I still work from home 🙂 which gives me the opportunity to spend time with my 6month old daughter.

so I don't miss things like my daughter rolling over on to her front for the first time as she did today.

Hi John,

I'm not a stay at home dad, but I'll extend a welcome warm anyway.

I bet it's great to be home with your daughter, how much work do you actually get done though?

Hi John,
Good to have you on board. I'm a stay at home Dad to a 20 month baby boy; it's hard work as you know but a lot of fun too.
I'm relatively new to this site as well, but Gooner put me in touch which is great.
Cheers,

I actually only need to spend a few hours a week on my business so it's quite easy and when I do I have her on my knee playing with a teddy or I use a head set and just look after her as normal 🙂

haven't found the chat system yet but will have a look.

Ah, there isn't a chat system as such - it's just online chatting using the forum - everyone can see it 🙂

Only a few hours per week on business - that's the ideal balance between work and family life 😆

Ha!

Yeah, that's about right. I've got a PhD to try to finish by end of next year - an ever-mounting pile of work - and working from my converted shed in the garden which is now getting decidedly chilly!

The upside is I am really flexible so i get a spend lots of time with my two - but it also means I am there but not there. Not babies anymore but i was a SAHD for my son when he was a baby and it was hard at times - a lot of walking up and down busy London street to get him fed - my wife worked close enough to our home that i could take him to and from feeds. Overall i feel it was a really valuable experience though and there were many magical moments.

How are you finding things JohnW and Hongkong100?

🙂
